Everyone (successful) has a system
They aren’t more creative or disciplined than you...they’ve built a system.
Hi friends - I’m officially one month into my motherhood journey and I’m surviving! Somehow I’m getting 5-7 hrs of sleep a night (thanks to my amazing and dedicated fiancé being a really great partner and baby daddy). Now, let’s pray I didn’t just jinx it… 🙏
I hope you enjoyed part 1 of 4 on thought leadership from Jared last week! Hopefully he convinced you why you should do it…next up: HOW to do it. 😉
Everyone (successful) has a system
Scroll through LinkedIn long enough, and it feels like some people are magically consistent.
Their posts show up every week. Their message is clear. Their content sounds…like them.
You might assume they’re more disciplined, more organized, more inspired than you. But here’s the reality:
Everyone who is winning with this strategy is consistent.
Consistency requires a system. Full stop.
Anyone without a system will lack consistency and ultimately see less 'results'.
Consistency isn’t about willpower
If you’re relying on “feeling inspired” to create content … good luck.
No founder or executive running a business, managing a team, or fighting through 42 Zoom calls a week magically carves out creative energy to write LinkedIn posts on demand.
The founders who show up consistently have built a system around themselves.
And the good news is that the system doesn’t have to look the same for everyone.
Systems look different - but they all work the same way
Here’s the secret: there isn’t one perfect formula for creating thought leadership. But every system follows the same core principles:
It reduces decision fatigue
You don’t wake up and wonder, What should I say today? Your ideas are banked, your process is clear, your content is planned.
It captures your voice efficiently
Some founders jot notes all week. Others record voice memos. The best? They talk it out on video - interviews, podcasts, client calls and repurpose that gold.
It runs without daily friction
Whether it’s a personal routine or outside support, your system removes the heavy lifting, so your voice shows up even on your busiest weeks.
Examples of systems that work
Here are three simple systems real people (including me) use:
✅ The Monthly Interview Model
Block 60 minutes, talk through ideas with someone who knows your business, and extract video clips + written posts from the conversation. (This is how we run the process for founders at Outworks.)
✅ The Idea Bank Method
Every time a client asks a great question or you rant about your industry … write it down. At the end of the week, batch 2–3 posts based on those real-time prompts.
✅ The Calendar Block Routine
You wouldn’t “find time” for investor calls - you schedule them. Same applies here. Block time for content every [Monday], no excuses. It becomes a meeting with your future buyer.
Your system, your rules
You don’t need to post daily. You don’t need to be an influencer.
You do need consistency if you want to build authority, trust, and inbound opportunities.
Your system should fit your style, your schedule, and your strengths.
But here’s the bottom line: the people you admire aren’t more creative or disciplined than you…they’ve just taken the guesswork out of showing up.
And you can too. 🫵
See ya next week!
